History

What is now The Robin Hood Inn, began life as the local bakehouse. In 1859, with the completion of the new railway line a hotel was required to cater to the influx in travelers, so the bakehouse was moved out and the building converted into The Railway Hotel. It remained thus for 100 years until being renamed the The Robin Hood Inn, in 1969. The change in name occurred as the pub was taken over by the Whitebread brewery.
